methodology
the calculator uses a simplified energy balance model. unsprung mass changes are weighted at approximately 4x their static mass equivalent due to suspension dynamics and rotational inertia contributions.
results are estimates. real-world range depends on driving conditions, temperature, tire selection, and aerodynamic factors beyond wheel weight alone.
